Taiwan-based boxship owner Wan Hai Lines has placed new orders for eight containerships, one 9,200 teu vessel and seven 11,000 teu ships worth up to $980m, according to two stock exchange filings.
Wan Hai Lines has reported the acquisition of one methanol dual fuel ready full-container vessel with capacity around 9,200 teu, and one methanol dual fuel ready and LNG dual fuel ready full-container vessel with capacity around 11,000 teu on behalf of Wan Hai Lines (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
The 9,200 teu unit is priced between $102m and $112m. The 11,000 teu unit has a price tag of $118m to $124m.
The price includes upgrade of the equipment on the vessels.
As it is reported, the trading counterparty is Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., whilst the payment will be arranged based on the contract.
In a separate stock exchange filing, Wan Hai Lines also announced the acquisition of six methanol dual fuel ready and LNG dual fuel ready full-container vessels with capacity around 11,000 teu on behalf of Wan Hai Lines (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
The average unit price is between $118m to $124m only per each vessel. The total transaction price for the six units is between $708m to $744m. The price includes upgrade of the equipment on the vessels.
The trading counterparty is Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd., whilst the payment will be arranged based on the contract.
The company didn’t disclose the delivery dates of the vessels described in the stock exchange announcement.
