Splash247: MG Ship takes logistics intelligence platform into Europe

Published by Splash247

Hong Kong logistics technology company MG Ship has launched its shipment visibility and intelligence platform in Europe, targeting freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers.

The platform brings ocean, air, road, rail and parcel shipments into a single control tower, combining live tracking with predictive arrival times, disruption alerts and trade and regulatory intelligence.

MG Ship said the system connects with more than 1,000 carriers across over 220 countries and territories. Users can monitor shipments, flag delays and service-level risks and feed data into existing transport management, ERP and customer-facing systems through APIs and other integrations.

The company is positioning the European rollout around a shift from basic shipment visibility towards earlier warning of disruption and automated exception management.

Suki Cheung, chief executive of MG Ship, said logistics providers increasingly needed predictive information rather than simply another view of where cargo was located.

MG Ship cited its own analysis suggesting more than 65% of cargo-tracking work is still handled manually. The company did not provide the underlying dataset or methodology for that figure, so it is best treated as a company estimate rather than an industry benchmark.

The privately held company is headquartered in Hong Kong and lists operations or partner offices across Asia as well as London and Los Angeles. Its European launch follows a partnership announced last month with Hong Kong’s Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre to develop AI-driven supply chain intelligence and digital infrastructure.

MG Ship is entering a crowded freight technology market as forwarders increasingly turn to AI for shipment monitoring, quotations, booking, documentation and exception handling.

SplashTech reported last month that Munich-based 5U AI raised $3.2m to scale digital workers for freight forwarding, while the wider maritime technology market is moving from AI experimentation towards products able to demonstrate measurable operational returns.
