PAKISTAN LOGISTICS UPDATE 12 August 2026
Dear Valued Customers and Partners,
We would like to provide you with an update regarding the ongoing nationwide goods transporters’ strike in Pakistan.
The strike remains in effect, and despite multiple rounds of negotiations between government authorities and transport representatives, no final agreement has yet been reached. Transporters have announced that operations will remain suspended until their key demands are formally accepted.
Current Situation
• More than 400,000 goods-carrying vehicles are reportedly affected by the nationwide suspension of transport operations.
• Cargo movement to and from major ports, including Port Qasim and Karachi Port, continues to experience disruptions.
• Business and export organizations have warned that the ongoing strike is impacting supply chains, delaying exports, and affecting industrial production across the country.
• Several rounds of discussions have been held between government representatives and transporters, however, negotiations remain deadlocked, primarily over fuel pricing mechanisms, taxation, toll charges, and axle-load regulations.
To facilitate further discussions, a joint monitoring and negotiation mechanism has been established by the relevant authorities. While discussions are ongoing, there is cautious optimism that a resolution may be reached in the near term.
WWGC continues to closely monitor the situation. At present, our operations remain under active observation, and we are working closely with all stakeholders to minimize disruptions wherever possible.
We will keep our customers and partners informed of any significant developments and operational impacts as further information becomes available.
We sincerely appreciate your continued cooperation, patience, and understanding during this challenging period.
